GOOGLE AUGUST SPAM UPDATE 2025

What you should pay attention to so that your site doesn’t go down!

According to Google itself and in the link: https://status.search.google.com/products/rGHU1u87FJnkP6W2GwMi/history, on August 26th Google launched one of the many Spam Updates it has already done.

In 2024 it made 3 spam updates, while this year only one.

According to the authoritative Google expert, Barry Schwartz from the Search Engine Roundtable, and dozens of other videos I have watched from other SEO and website promotion experts, the Google August Spam Update will take approximately 3 weeks to complete and will have a global reach at the same time.

We say this because Greece has a different search algorithm or algorithms than other markets and the American market in particular. The Greek Google search market is much simpler and a decade behind the American market.

In 2024 it made 3 spam updates, while this year only one.

Why is Google doing the August Spam Update?

To combat spam sites, AI content, and content that doesn’t seem right for the average user.

What should you watch out for?

You shouldn’t do anything until the August Spam Update 2025 is complete. So you shouldn’t do anything right now until the volatility has settled down. That is, the dance of search results.

There is no specific targeting at this time according to Google. However, you should watch out for the following:

What to watch out for:

  • Search Console Trends: Impressions, clicks, average position—fill in the dashboards with the official start time.
  • Query and page type patterns: Look for consistent movement between groups, not just individual URLs.
  • Competitor movement: Compare movements to nearby competitors to separate your website’s problems from changes in your industry.

What is expected to change with the August Google Update 2025
