What I’m writing about is not just content or a theory.
WHY YOU SHOULD DO SEO IN YOUR START UP FROM DAY 1
1. SEO IS ABOUT CONTENT AND CONTENT IS KING
SEO is about content, and content is king, as Bill Gates said back in 1996.
And what does it mean in terms of SEO?
Google has to see content on your website in order to rank it.
It doesn’t rank websites without content.
Content is key, like 1.000 words pages or posts with photographs and videos.
2. SEO IS MORE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE THAN ANY OTHER MEAN
SEO is more efficient and effective than any other means in marketing.
Especially for international markets, you need at least 12 to 14 months in order to get some traction and get new clients.
So it’s, possible to start losing money till the second year in order to make money.
How do I know it?
I have done before several times, and especially for some international markets in United States it’s very, very difficult to penetrate and get inside.
3. SEARCH ENGINE MARKET IS GROWING 20% EVERY YEAR
The third reason that you should do SEO for your startup from day 1 is that the search engine market is growing 20% every year.
Also, digital marketing is growing 20% every year.
ChatGPT is growing a bit more.
Facebook is growing.
The advertising spend on Facebook is growing.
TikTok is growing in new means, and new mediums are getting started every year.
WE NEED THE RIGHT MINDSET TO START SEO IN OUR START UP
The basic 3 things that you need to take into consideration is that SEO is not a gambling game or a get rich quick scheme.
1. SEO IS NOT A GAMBLING OR A RICH QUICK SCHEME
It’s not euro jackpot.
It’s something that is long term.
It’s here to stay, and you cannot get rich in one month or with SEO or in one week or in one year.
You have to repeat everything that, we tell you here again and again and make many mistakes, optimize them, correct them, and then find a way out to make money.
2. SEO IS NOT JUST GOOGLE RANKING OR THE FIRST PLACE BUT ALSO BRANDING AND MARKETING
The second that you need to know is that SEO is not just Google ranking on the first place, but also branding and marketing as well.
You have to brand your services.
You have to brand your name, to brand your website, and market it in the market.
3. SEO IS NOT DEAD YET
The third is SEO is not dead yet.
Every year someone says SEO is dead, and Google Gemini came as well in the last month, and the AI has taken the people by storm, and they think that SEO is over.
So if we use Gemini that takes data from Google instead of ChatGPT that has a narrower market with Bing and click start up SEO, we can see that we have a telegraph here.
It has some basic points, but you cannot start anything based on Gemini.
You need more context and more content.
You need a professional to provide their services for you.
So SEO is not dead yet.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
Optimization can change every year.
When I optimize something, I optimize it for AI, for Google Business Profile, for local SEO, optimize it for video, optimize it for every new trend.
And now we’re in the year of Search Everywhere Optimization, so we need to optimize for everything, every social media, every website, every object or entity it is on the Internet.

THE SEO PROCESS FOR START UPS
I have some points here that are basic.
First rule is if you are a beginner, don’t do anything.
Do nothing because you’re gonna make more harm than help.
Trust someone that has done it before like us and ask for a quote.
1. SET GOALS FOR YOUR SEO
WHY ARE YOU DOING SEO?
The first is to set goals for your SEO.
Why are you doing SEO?
Is it for brand awareness?

2. FINDING NEW CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS, INVESTORS
Is it for finding new customers, suppliers, investors, or stakeholders, or partners?
3. CORPORATE REPUTATION MANAGEMENT
The third is the corporate reputation management.
If you have negative PR, you have to correct it and build many websites in order to avoid this and to keep your company’s fame in good stand sales, especially if you have an e-shop and you are building WooCommerce only.
Not other platforms are good for SEO and we use WordPress for every other need.

For instance, Google Ads, it has a phone number and, Google placed my phone number in the search results.
Many people are calling me without having any clue.
Also, I don’t have any clue about Google Ads.
We’re not doing Google Ads.
We’re doing only SEO.
But customer service is very important, and SEO can help you by finding, many things about the product or service they bought.
For instance, if I have bought a Nike pair of shoes and I wanna learn more about how to wash them, how to treat them well, how to make them more durable, how to keep them longer.
These information are not provided by the place I bought the shoes.
So SEO can do something about this by putting information in front of the customers after the sale.
6. INCREASE TRAFFIC ETC.
YOU NEED A MARKETING PLAN
And 6 is the classic answer, increase traffic, increase leads, etc.
For all of this, you need a marketing plan.
I think that every startup has a marketing plan, and SEO is included in the marketing plan, and digital marketing is included in marketing plan.

2. KEYWORD RESEARCH
After knowing your goals, you need to start the keyword research, and you can use many tools.
It’s better to stay on the free tools instead of buying, or paying for tools because, firstly, you don’t know to use them, and you don’t know whether if you need them.
Many tools promise things that can never deliver.
So you need the keyword research to be done and find the basic keywords for your market.
For instance, if you are an electrician in Athens, Greece, the basic keyword is electrician, electrician in Athens, etc.
And, it’s better to avoid any other information on keywords because ChatGPT can catch them and AI overviews catch them, and you have zero traffic to your website.
No results at all.
But if you answer ask for ilektrologos athina that is in Greek electrician in Athens or Athens electricians, etc. then it’s the basic money keyword for the website.
You need to know your money keywords.
3. CREATE CONTENT BASED ON KEYWORDS
And then the first step is to create content based on these keywords.
This website is based on keywords.
The keyword is called start up SEO.
It’s the same SEO with all every other websites, but by using the word start up in title + your URL + in the content, I’m targeting these keywords.
So you have to target these keywords by creating content.
Content is video shorts, at least 1.000 words of good quality content, not narrow content, but targeted content like this or you need someone with more experience in your field to write about it.
4. CREATE BACKLINKS BASED ON KEYWORDS
FIND DIRECTORIES, CATALOGS, PROFESSIONAL CHAMBERS, ETC.

GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE
These backlinks will make your website rank on Google and give some visibility on your site.
You need at least some good backlinks or some spammy backlinks or 10 backlinks general based on your keywords, to bring people to your website.

You need to find directories, catalogs, professional chambers to get registered.
But in America, there are many other like Better Business Bureau, for instance, to get a backlink from there.
Start with free backlinks and then go to paid a bit later.
For social media, I use the FITTYX in order to mention Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, and X as the basic social media you need to use, and PR campaigns in third websites.
Also you need a Google Business Profile that you have to fill it correctly and use a NAP with consistency everywhere.
NAP stands for Name – Address -Phone.
Be careful with the Google business profile.
Do not do any mistakes.
Do not change emails.
Every change is critical for your business because Google Business Profile can be wiped out in one second by Google and AI.
Be careful with that.
Be careful with every Google entity.
5. OPTIMIZATION OF ALL OF THE ABOVE AND TECHNICAL SEO FIX
Fix the technical SEO.
We have done everything, till now correctly and properly, and we haven’t done any mistakes.
But the fifth step is a step of the real optimization.
SEO is optimization.
We can redo many things again and again and remap many things.
Also, technical SEO fixes not only the sitemap.
It’s many other things that we can see and look over again several times.
We can do it at least twice for your new website.
6. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION PER MONTH, QUARTER, YEAR
And the sixth step and the last is that you need performance evaluation per month, every month, quarter, and year.
SEO is not like Google Ads.
It’s not responding instantly.
You have to wait at least a week in order to see something.
Many times it will take months; 1 month, 2 months, 3 months.
So it’s better to evaluate your performance of the website or whatever has been done in terms of results every month, quarter, and year.
Especially if you are new and you are a bit anxious, you cannot expect from SEO to, provide you from day one with new clients.
You can use Google Ads or Meta Ads or TikTok Ads or YouTube Ads or whatever in order to get some traction in the first days, in the first months and do SEO as well.
So you need a budget for SEO.

And if you’re a beginner in SEO, do nothing.
Hire an expert instead.
